Should I start my lawn from seed or sod?
I want to plant a lawn at my new house. Should I start it from seed or sod? What's the process?
Sod gives you an instantly green lawn but costs 10 to 20 times more than planting grass seed. Seed, of course, takes longer and requires quite a bit of watering and attention. Whatever method you choose, you want to buy high-quality material, which will keep you from accidentally introducing a lot of weeds into your new lawn. And make sure to know the source of your sod before purchasing. If you choose to seed, the extra money invested in high-quality seed is worth every penny.
